March 2007 Newsletter Dear Associates, Can you believe that spring will be here in just the next few days? That can only mean one thing, that it is time for the Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show. I’ve heard that there are going to be 40 models and some of them are people you know. Come and enjoy watching these fabulous new models strut their stuff some of them on the runway for the first time. It’s going to be a great event. We’ll be looking for you on Saturday, March 24th at noon at the South Lyon Church of Christ building. March 24th is also the deadline for the Spring Bulb Sale, so you can turn in your orders at the fashion show. If you are like me and don’t need any flowers to plant, then do what I’m doing, just make a donation. You get to share in the project and it benefits Rochester College but you don’t have to dig any holes. As you can tell gardening just isn’t my thing. I’m so happy to appreciate the beauty that others create with their planting and arranging. This project always adds to the beauty at Rochester College . Try and make a trip to campus during late April or early May to enjoy the fruits of our bulb sale project from the past few years. Did you forget about the Associates Tea last month? Well I did. I got my check to Catherine just this week. It’s so easy to forget, we get so busy or sick or up to our ears in things, but it not too late to send it in now. So write that check or give some money to your local treasurer or even bring it to the fashion show and we’ll gladly accept it. Mark you calendars for the next General Meeting on April 17th. That’s a week later than usual due to the Easter break for many schools. This will be an important meeting and the last one of this fiscal year. We will be electing the trustees that will serve on the board for the next two years. Please make plans to come and participate. Next fall will mark the 50th Anniversary of Rochester College. The Associates will be planning and participating in many of the festivities at the college, make sure to watch for the dates of each event in late September. The college has grown tremendously in the last 50 years and we Associates have been an integral part of that growth and will continue to support Rochester College as it grows for years to come. Make sure that you continue to be a part of the future of Rochester College by supporting it through the Associates. Your sister in service, Linda Jones President
Rochester College Back to Top
In a few more weeks, another Associate gift to the College will be visible to all. For several years, the Associates have cooperated with our grounds department to purchase tulips and daffodils for the campus. As a result, thousands of bulbs have been planted along the front of the campus and along the hillside by the lake. Let me encourage you to visit in the spring and see this splash of color! As we enter the summer months, we face our toughest months for cash flow. Tuition ends but salary expenses and utilities continue. Your hard work in the summer helps us face this issue each year. Thank you for all you do to provide resources for the College and her students! Your support and work encourages us at the College. May God bless each of you as we work together to advance Rochester College. Blessings, Michael W. Westerfield, Ph.D. President
